Last week saw the first official Glasgow Laydeez Do Comics meet at the Pearce Institute in Govan. TGC were well represented on the night, with Kat-Lombard Cook speaking alongside Moogs Kewell and Neil Slorance. Regular TGC contributor Honeypears (aka Heather Middleton) was also the guest blogger, and you can see all of her fascinating visual recap of the night over on the Laydeez Do Comics blog.

I love my wee face in this.

Another awesome drawing from Laydeez do Comics!

Lorna, Colin, their children Iona and Calum, and their dog, Danny.

This was a rush order I did before I went on holiday last year! Bit of a squeeze, but I think it came out OK! :)

This is Sean and Laura, who requested a simple yet cheeky topper. I love their cute faces, and the fact that Laura specifically requested she be pinching Sean’s bum! They had a non-traditional cheese-‘cake’ instead of a real cake, with the topper (rather precariously) balanced on top.

This is Jasper, a lovely labrador that I was asked to sculpt. He looks dead happy!

Back in 2010 I was approached by Richard Starkings, writer of Elephantmen, to make him a sculpture of one of the main characters of the comic, Hip Flask. This still stands as one of my favourite sculptures that I’ve made, and it was fantastic to hand it over to him and artist Boo Cook at Thought Bubble ‘10.

Later a picture of my sculpture appeared at the beginning of the Elephantmen 4 trade, which was an awesome surprise!!

Got an original character you want to see in 3D? Drop me a line! : )

This was my first wedding cake topper, which I made as a surprise for my friends Masami and Taka when I went over to their wedding in Japan in 2011. I had no idea what Maz’s wedding dress would look like so I had to make it up! As it happened they had a cake with cream on it so it couldn’t go on top of the cake but it went on the wedding table and served as a nice reminder none the less. : )

I do sculpture too! This is a sculpture I made for my boyfriend for our first anniversary. I saw him eyeing up a model of the Laputa Robot on Amazon and I thought it was pretty crap for £50, so I thought I’d make him a more detailed one! I live in fear of it getting broken. XD
